That’s exactly the thought that hit me when I stumbled across the oldest photo on my iPhone, taken January 27, 2025. It’s a quiet, personal snapshot: my bathtub in Midsommarkransen, Stockholm, filled to the brim with a foamy bubble bath, and perched right on the edge—a little mystery citrus plant. 🍋🍊🍈
This isn’t just any plant. Every time I cut into a lemon, lime, or orange, I save the seeds and plant them, always curious what might grow. 🌱 This one? Still a mystery, but it’s thriving. Like so many small rituals in my life, it’s a little experiment in patience and surprise.
Bathtubs have always been my personal sanctuary. One of my earliest memories is of being plopped into a big plastic basin (to me, it felt massive!) in my mom’s bathroom, above my grandparents' bakery. 🥖 The air was warm with soap bubbles, and I remember hearing my mother nearby in the next room—comforting, safe. Another treasured memory: staying at my grandparents’ hotel 🏨, where my grandfather prepared my bath with so much bubble bath that I nearly disappeared beneath the foam. His face, peeking in to check on me, beaming at my joy—those moments stick with you.
Today, my bathtub is still that sacred space. It’s where I go to relax after a long shift at the theatre, where I dream up new content ideas, where I let the noise of the world fade away. 💭
Baths are more than water—they’re a ritual, a reset button, a time machine of sorts. This photo might look simple, but for me, it captures layers of comfort, nostalgia, and quiet joy.
