What makes a gift unforgettable when it marks the end of a decade-long tradition? đ✨
Today’s vlog is bittersweet: the last preview before opening night. Tomorrow the curtain rises for real—but tonight, I honor one of the most meaningful traditions in my theatre life.
đ The Last Gift for David
For ten years, every opening night, I’ve given David—a magician with brushes and wigs—a framed treasure. Always vintage ads, always a touch of glam history. This year’s gift is framed in IKEA chic, a slice of old-world glamour encased in modern simplicity. But this gift is final. David retires, and with it, an era closes. The emotion is palpable: joy for the memories, sadness at the goodbye, gratitude for every powder puff and painted cheek.
đ Sellpy Surprise
Backstage, the parcels arrive like little miracles. From SELLPY today: pink COS shorts. Bold, playful, a wink of color in a world of black trousers and stage silks. Fashion is always part of the story—second-hand treasures becoming stage companions.
đȘ© Disco Balls and Friendship
My friends Martin and Jenny arrive with preview gifts that are perfection: chips, nuts, and a tiny disco ball. Life needs sparkle. Snacks and disco are theatre’s unofficial love language.
đș Harald’s Escape
After the show, Git and I escape across the street to Harald’s, a gay bar glowing with laughter, rainbow light, and the taste of a well-earned beer. This is the ritual after ritual: the small joys that carry us through the storm of previews into the triumph of opening night.
đ Why Watch?
This vlog is about more than costumes or rehearsals. It’s about:
- The rituals of theatre đ
- The beauty of tradition and the poignancy of farewells đč
- Second-hand fashion finds from SELLPY and COS đ
- Friendship, food, and sparkle đȘ©
It’s laughter, it’s glamour, it’s heart. And tomorrow—we open.
