At 9:45 AM, the world was still bright ☀️ and full of hope. Behind me, you can see colorful IKEA pillows 🎨🛏️ adding a pop of color to the guest room — a perfect little snapshot of Swedish holiday comfort 🇸🇪🎄. Featuring me: shaved head, no beard, relaxed and blissfully unaware 😄.
This Christmas was supposed to be different. We planned a festive getaway to Stufvenäs Gästgiveri, a spa retreat 🏨💦. I'd called ahead to confirm vegan meals 🥦🍽️, and my cousin Carina, who booked, did the same 📞. But when we arrived — nothing. No vegan meals prepared.
Instead of feasts, I survived three days on bread, potatoes, and some random veggies 🥖🥔🥗. Thank goodness I had packed a big bag of peanuts 🥜! Meanwhile, the others feasted on full spreads 🍗🍰. I was expected to pay equally — until I spoke up loud and clear ✍️🧠: online reviews, Instagram tags 📲💬, and even an AI-generated protest song 🎶🤖.
In the end? I only had to pay for the rooms, but the damage was done. The worst Christmas ever 🥲, all thanks to Stufvenäs Gästgiveri. This photo captures the innocence before the storm ☁️🎭 — a snapshot of hope before disappointment.
Photos tell stories 📖 — sometimes ones we didn’t expect. But they remind us: Always advocate for yourself, and never forget to pack snacks! 😅🥡
