Waking up in my parents' cozy home in Mörbylånga, Öland, 🌅 I start the day trying to get the perfect establishing shot. But of course, mamma surprises me by breaking into song! 🎤🎶 We hop into the car 🚗 and head to Stufvenäs Gästgiveri, a spa that I had high hopes for… but let me tell you, my vegan Christmas dreams were crushed. 😩🎄
Despite calling ahead to ensure they'd cater to vegans (they promised!), I quickly learned otherwise. 🙄 The hotel itself was lovely, the room was cozy, but the food situation? A nightmare. 🍽️ Dinner started with fried cabbage and beetroot and potatoes—basically, side dishes disguised as meals. 🥬🥔 I’m just sitting there, longing for a glass of wine I regret not packing. 🍷
What saved the day? A beautiful Christmas present from Irene: rainbow mittens! 🧤🌈 They totally brightened my mood. ✨
It wasn’t the holiday I imagined, but it made for one unforgettable (and entertaining) story to share with you all. 😂
