What if Light Could Capture a Memory?

This photo, the oldest on my iPhone, takes us back to December 19, 2023, when I was visiting my friend Magnus in Malmö. Magnus was dazzling audiences as a drag queen in the musical *Everybody’s Talking About Jamie* at Malmö Opera. That evening, we strolled through Gustav Adolf Square and stumbled upon this enormous, glowing Christmas bauble. Its light was practically made for selfies, casting the perfect golden glow that turned an ordinary moment into something magical.

In this shot, I’m bundled up in my winter ensemble: my orange hat adding a pop of color, a leopard-print backpack slung over my shoulder, and my Giambattista Valli x H&M floral scarf paired with a statement-making CD-print Moschino x H&M parka. Magnus kept it classic in black, letting the festive backdrop shine.

What makes this photo special isn’t just the light or the outfits—it’s the memory of that December evening. The festive energy of Malmö, the laughter we shared, and the pure joy of capturing a moment in the glow of holiday magic remind me why I love taking photos. They freeze time, holding onto life’s little joys

Have you ever stumbled upon a setting so perfect it demanded a photo? Let me know about your favorite photo moments in the comments.
