On February 2, 2025, I found myself in the grand auditorium of Filadelfiakyrkan in Stockholm with my friend, colleague, and makeup artist extraordinaire Johanna Lysdahl. We were there to watch *Handbok för Superhjältar*, the musical adaptation of the beloved children's books by Elias & Agnes Våhlund. 🦸♀️📕 The book series, hugely popular in Sweden and beyond, tells the inspiring story of Lisa—a shy, bullied girl who discovers a superhero handbook and learns to stand up for herself, turning fear into fierce courage. 💥 It’s a story of empowerment, resilience, and finding your inner strength—perfect material for the stage.
I didn’t know quite what to expect going in. But from the first scene, I was blown away. 🤯 The performances, the staging, the energy—it all came together beautifully. A special shout-out to Petter Mario Skoglund, our former coworker and friend, who dazzled with his mix of acting, singing, and acrobatics. Watching someone you know bring their absolute A-game to a show like this? Magic. ✨
Johanna and I snapped a pic before the lights went down—me rocking my signature black sequin bomber (because theatre night deserves sparkle), Johanna stunning in classic black. 🖤 That photo, taken right there in the auditorium glow, captures everything: excitement, friendship, and the joy of a night at the theatre.
And because no great night is complete without great food, we finished with vegan tacos at Dirty Taco next door. 🌮💚 Seriously delicious.
This night reminded me why I never underestimate theatre. You think you’re just out for a casual show, and suddenly you’re watching one of the best productions of the year.
