**What if Backstage Could Talk?**

This is the oldest photo on my phone, snapped on January 27, 2024, backstage at the theatre, in the wings stage right. It captures my colleague and dear friend David Julio, our brilliant makeup artist and wig designer. We’ve been working together since 2007, starting with *Rivierans Guldgossar* (*Dirty Rotten Scoundrels*) at Cirkus in Stockholm. From there, it’s been a dazzling journey through productions like *My Fair Lady*, *Singin’ in the Rain*, *Spamalot*, *La Cage aux Folles*, *Ladykillers*, *Så som i Himmelen*, and *Tootsie*.  

 David, originally from near Boston, moved to Sweden to study art, fell in love with the people (and apparently the men ❤️), and decided to stay. His creativity has brought life to every production we’ve worked on together. In this photo, he’s mid-prep, a quiet moment in the bustling energy of backstage. His steady presence has been a constant source of inspiration and calm over the years.

Behind him, you can spot the familiar backdrop of the wings—dim lighting, racks of costumes, and that unmistakable pre-show buzz. To me, this photo isn’t just about a moment; it’s a snapshot of teamwork, artistry, and a friendship that has grown through countless curtain calls.

Every time I see this, I’m reminded of the magic created behind the scenes—the people, the laughter, the long hours, and the memories that last a lifetime. Here’s to David and the world of theatre! 🎭✨
