Come with me on the ultimate Swedish spring birthday escape! I was invited (sort of secretly) by my coworker David to a *Tynningö lunch and fika*, which turned out to be the sweetest island gathering I could've wished for.

🚲 The day started early, biking from Midsommarkransen to Skeppskajen with birthday nerves in full swing.  

🛥️ We caught the SL boat just in time and coasted through the glittering archipelago.  

👯‍♀️ I was reunited with dear colleagues from my theatre days: Eva (*CHESS*, *CHINAREVYN*, *MAMMA MIA!*), Pia (from the Oscarsteatern stage door), Smulan (props queen turned pawnshop expert), and Git (who’s been in my life since *Rivierans Guldgossar*).  

🌞 On Tynningö, David and his husband P.M. welcomed us with pink spritz cocktails and smiles. Their cozy house sits atop a rocky cliff with a stunning sea view. The veranda became the hub for laughter, spring gossip, and generous gifts—like Chinese groceries, vegan treats, and even a cucumber plant.

🔥 Lunch was grilled to perfection:  

• Vegan hotdogs for me 🌱  

• Vegetarian for Johanna 🧅  

• Regular for the rest 🐷  

• Served with wine, ketchup, fried onions, and a crunchy salad with roasted walnuts 🥗  

🌸 Between bites, Johanna and I discovered a blooming Japanese cherry tree full of bees—pure magic.  

🫐 Dessert? A dreamy vegan blueberry pie with vanilla custard as everyone sang happy birthday to me 🥹  

💬 The day wrapped up with heartfelt chats about aging (hello 60+ chair test!), and a chilly farewell ferry back to the mainland.
