A ferry ride, a surprise fika, and a vegan blueberry pie—this is how you do a birthday in the Stockholm archipelago.** 🎂🛥️🌸

Come with me on the ultimate Swedish spring birthday escape! I was invited (sort of secretly) by my coworker David to a *Tynningö lunch and fika*, which turned out to be the sweetest island gathering I could've wished for.

🚲 The day started early, biking from Midsommarkransen to Skeppskajen with birthday nerves in full swing.  

🛥️ We caught the SL boat just in time and coasted through the glittering archipelago.  

👯‍♀️ I was reunited with dear colleagues from my theatre days: Eva (*CHESS*, *CHINAREVYN*, *MAMMA MIA!*), Pia (from the Oscarsteatern stage door), Smulan (props queen turned pawnshop expert), and Git (who’s been in my life since *Rivierans Guldgossar*).  

🌞 On Tynningö, David and his husband P.M. welcomed us with pink spritz cocktails and smiles. Their cozy house sits atop a rocky cliff with a stunning sea view. The veranda became the hub for laughter, spring gossip, and generous gifts—like Chinese groceries, vegan treats, and even a cucumber plant.

🔥 Lunch was grilled to perfection:  

• Vegan hotdogs for me 🌱  

• Vegetarian for Johanna 🧅  

• Regular for the rest 🐷  

• Served with wine, ketchup, fried onions, and a crunchy salad with roasted walnuts 🥗  

🌸 Between bites, Johanna and I discovered a blooming Japanese cherry tree full of bees—pure magic.  

🫐 Dessert? A dreamy vegan blueberry pie with vanilla custard as everyone sang happy birthday to me 🥹  

💬 The day wrapped up with heartfelt chats about aging (hello 60+ chair test!), and a chilly farewell ferry back to the mainland.

Ever wonder how a day in the life of a vegan theatre-loving Stockholm-based content creator looks? 🎬💻🎭 This morning I kicked things off by editing yesterday’s Instagram Stories 🎥, repurposing them across all my social channels – because let’s face it, content never sleeps 😅📱 Then it was time to upload today’s video, write this caption 💡 and post the oldest pic on my iPhone (a tradition I *highly* recommend for digital spring cleaning 🧼📸) before deleting it from my camera roll forever. 💾✨

Outfit of the day? My new Moschino x H&M purple-orange puffer 🔥 with silver sequins 💎, leopard print faux fur hood 🐆 and an acid green beanie 🧤. Got on my bike 🚴 and met my fabulous friend Lisa outside PLAYHOUSE THEATRE for *INSTANT PLAYHOUSE* – a benefit performance for UNICEF 🌍❤️ where playwrights, directors and actors create and perform brand-new plays all within 24 hours! Talk about live theatre magic 🪄🎟️

But first... TACOS 🌮! We crossed the street to Taco Bar for some spicy Tex Mex – I had the mix plate with all the vegan toppings 🥑🌶️🌽. Mexican food is a flavor fiesta I never say no to 🎉🇲🇽

After the show, Lisa headed to Dramaten for *Gertrude Stein* while I dashed to IKEA for frozen vegan meatballs 🍡🛒. Swung by home 🏡 to grab a bag of clothes I no longer wear for my friend Martin – a little closet clear-out for a good cause 👚♻️

At Martin’s, we had a cozy smörgåsbord 🧆 with ajvar, pickles 🥒, and the best vegan potato cakes with melted cheese 🧀🤤 He just got a HUGE new iPhone 📱📦, and I gifted him a bag of popcorn 🍿 plus two kamikaze cocktails 🍸 in jars – just add ice! 🧊 He wanted salt on the rim – of course he did 😄

Then, finally, home to Midsommarkransen 🛌📍

HOW I GOT MY SENSATIONAL CERULEAN SHIRT …

Starting the day with a fun routine! 🎥 First, I dive into editing yesterday's Instagram stories—gotta keep my social media fresh for you all! Afterward, it’s time to upload the video, write the description, and yes, I do my quirky daily tradition of uploading the oldest picture on my iPhone and erasing it right after. 📸 It’s all about keeping things fresh and a little nostalgic at the same time! 🙌.

But wait—then comes the fun part: time to move a side table around my apartment. 🛋 I decided it would look great in the hallway, but...hmm, it didn’t quite work as expected. 😂 No worries though, just needed some styling. 🖤 I added a white porcelain head and a few perfume bottles, and *presto*! Instant style! ✨

Of course, I also did a little cleaning and sorted some items for donation. ♻️ Then, I hopped on my cross trainer for 30 minutes of exercise (gotta stay active!) 💪 After that, I went out to grab a new blue shirt I ordered online. 👕 Feeling fresh, I decided to start a new project—creating short videos about how people in different parts of Sweden speak English. 🇸🇪🌍

Dinner was a cozy couscous dish, perfect for winding down after a busy day! 🍽️

HOW I GOT MY YELLOW MARNI SHIRT…

🚨Packages at the door alert! This day started in the most chaotic influencer way: editing yesterday’s Instagram stories in bed (still half asleep 😅), when suddenly—a TEXT. EARLY BIRD’s been flapping through the night and left me goodies from my VINTED haul 🐦📦✨  

First out: a vintage yellow shirt with matching buttons (lemon vibes anyone? 🍋) and a *Marni pour H&M* tee—yep, fashion girlies, we thrift with TASTE. 💛👕  

Outfit check: mint green *Basquiat x H&M* hoodie (hello art history 😍), silver sequin Zara puffer (disco ball realness ✨), acid green beanie, and pink-lens sunglasses so bold they should come with a warning 💚💗🕶️.  

Then I’m off—on my bike 🚲 through Midsommarkransen to the theatre. At work, it’s box o’clock with red-haired queen Johanna 🧰❤️ We’re packing up costumes, but she takes a quick spin in a wheelchair (chaos), and later totally bombs the mannequin challenge. Like seriously—blinking, giggling, full fail 😂  

Lunch is a red lentil vegan burger situation (protein queens unite 🌱🍔), and when I finally get home, guess what I find? A bag of unpopped popcorn 🍿 So obviously, I pop the entire thing like a movie marathon’s about to happen 🎬  

Living that costume supervisor life at a musical theatre in Stockholm while keeping my vlogs daily, my food vegan, and my fashion loud. Oh—and yes, today’s oldest iPhone pic is already posted and deleted. My feed stays cute AND nostalgic 🫶📸

HOW I GOT TO A TEENY TINY THEATRE…

🎬 Start the day with me as I edit yesterday’s Instagram Stories for all my social media outlets ✂️📱. Once they’re polished, it’s time to upload them to YouTube 📤, write the descriptions 📝, and get everything ready before heading to the theatre! 🎭  

At work, David is on a mission: he needs a box 📦 big enough to fit a wig stand, a styrofoam head, and a BIG wig 👩‍🎤. The struggle is real! Meanwhile, I fuel up with a cozy vegan lunch: elbow macaroni with creamy béchamel sauce and IKEA’s famous vegan meatballs 🍝🌱. Perfection!  

Then, it’s time for a little *French flair*! 🇫🇷 I ask my coworker Johanna to recap our pre-lunch activities—but with a French accent. She absolutely nails it! 😂👌 Dinner? Well, it’s *déjà vu*, because I have the same meal again. No regrets!  

As night falls, I sneak out to Ö2scenkonst Kungsholmen, a tiny theatre on Bergsgatan 11 🎟️. Martin and I are here to watch *FÖRBJUD ALLA BLOMMOR* (*Ban All Flowers*) 🌸⛔. The show? Meh. But biking home is always an adventure! 🚴💨 We take a detour through Slussen, where we "liberate" a few posters from a wooden construction wall. 🎭🖼️ Martin and I part ways at a gas station in Aspudden ⛽—another day well spent!

HOW I GOT MY PERFUME BACK…

Editing, biking 🚴‍♂️, theatre life 🎭, and a missing perfume bottle? Welcome to another day in my chaotic yet entertaining world! I kick things off by editing yesterday’s Instagram stories for all my social media outlets 📱✨. Then, I hop on my bike and head to the theatre to continue packing up the show and getting everything ready.  

Somewhere along the way, I misplace my perfume from THE ESSENCE VAULT, No. 53 🫢. Panic? Not really. When I get to work, I find it sitting peacefully on the desk—crisis averted!  

During my break, I randomly stumble upon a post about Teater Halland’s stage adaptation of *Picnic at Hanging Rock* 🌿🕰️. Then, I spot on Jennie Backman’s Instagram that they’re touring with Riksteatern and stopping at Årsta Teatern. I impulsively buy a ticket for the next day 🎟️—love a good theatre moment!  

Backstage antics continue with David cracking endless *How many... does it take to screw in a lightbulb?* jokes 💡😂, followed by an unexpected Dionne Warwick medley 🎶🎤. Then, he casually reveals something I never noticed while working on *Tootsie*—prosthetic fingertips with dramatic red nails 💅! Turns out, they were supposed to help Robert Gustafsson’s quick drag transformation but kept falling off mid-performance. Theatre magic at its finest!  

Just another day balancing creativity, chaos, and unexpected laughs. Wouldn’t have it any other way!

HOW I GOT COCKTAILS IN THE PENTHOUSE…

Burgers, bikes & cocktails! 🍔🚴‍♂️🍸 Tonight, Johanna & I are invited to David Julio’s apartment for cocktails 🍹 but first – food! So, we head to MAX on Kungsgatan for a quick bite. I go all in with two vegan burgers 🌱🍔. Then, it's time to bike to David’s place… or in Johanna’s case, rent a scooter 🛴. 🚲🚲 Meanwhile, David rants about people going the wrong way in the bike lanes… while doing exactly that himself 😂🙃.  

David’s penthouse on Kungsholmen is sleek, modern & minimalist – like a luxury hotel suite 🏨✨. The open-plan space has two balconies: one with stunning Stockholm rooftop views 🌆 & another overlooking the canal 🌊. We settle in with cocktails 🍹 snacks 🍿 & lots of laughs 🤩. The drinks are strong, the vibes are immaculate 😎 & we’re having a great time.  

Before we leave, we give David his gifts: a green color-correcting cream 💚 (to fight under-eye redness, of course 😉) & a stash of instant noodles 🍜 – because balance is key 😂. Cheers to good company, good drinks & questionable biking skills! 🥂🚴‍♂️
