I was on the road with my beloved colleagues Johanna 🌟 and David 💄, and together we transformed stages in Malmö 🌊 and Gothenburg 🚲 into worlds of pure theatrical wonder. But the real show? It happened offstage.

Living atop @malmoarena means I slumber to stage magic and awaken to city serenity. And that’s before breakfast 😋🌱☕️

Downstairs at Percy’s, the hotel’s stylish restaurant, I indulge in a delightful vegan breakfast 🥐🍓🍞—fresh fruit, warm bread, creamy oat lattes, and even vegan cheese 🧀🍇. The staff? Incredibly kind 💁‍♀️✨. Lunch and dinner? Absolutely divine 🍝🥗. And @krall_entertainment, especially @tobiaseliasson, @andreakrall & @sophiastolpe? Angels with spreadsheets 👼📋

Post-breakfast, it’s adventure time with coworkers David & Johanna 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️. We rent bikes and glide from Hyllie to Malmö city. Our destination? The glistening canals of Malmö! We hop into pedal boats 🚤💦—or “cykelbåtar” as the locals call them—and drift through a blend of medieval charm and modern innovation.

The canals lead us past Malmöhus Castle 🏰, once a prison, now a museum; the vibrant Moderna Museet 🎨; and tranquil parks where lovers picnic and artists sketch 🎨🍃. Malmö was Danish for centuries 🇩🇰, Turning Torso is the first twisted skyscraper ever 🌀, and the city’s cycling culture is unmatched 🚲. Malmö also boasts Sweden’s second-largest Pride 🏳️‍🌈, a multicultural food scene 🍜🌮, and a deep-rooted love for football ⚽

Going on Tour with the Theatre Crew: From Stockholm to Malmö | Hotel Upgrade + G&Ts!

The tour has officially begun and this video is packed with hilarious moments, behind-the-scenes crew energy, and a surprise hotel upgrade you’ll want to see!

Join me as I travel with the cast and crew of our musical from Stockholm to Malmö for the first leg of our post-Stockholm theatre tour! I’m Joakim, a dresser and costume supervisor living in Midsommarkransen, and in this video, you’ll get a proper taste of what it’s like going on tour with a show after two successful years in the capital. 🎭🧳

The adventure begins at Stockholm Central Station where I hop on the train with the best gang in showbiz:

We glide through the Swedish countryside until we arrive in Malmö. Then it’s a swift change in Hyllie and a glamorous stroll past Emporia Mall to our lodgings—the Malmö Arena Hotel.

✨ AND THEN—THE TWIST! ✨

I’ve been given a room on the 12th floor. Yes, twelfth. TWELFTH! While David fumes with envy (and not just from the train wine), I dash up to the Skybar for a cheeky beer with him and Johanna (who had the audacity to arrive earlier). 🍻🌆 When the bar closes, we shift to David’s room for gin & tonics (conveniently close to an ice machine—how very him). 🍸💫

Back in my room, I unpack my “not basic but iconic” tour wardrobe and gaze over Malmö’s night lights like a brooding novelist from the ‘20s. 🧥📓🕺
