Ever wondered what tour life really looks like for a musical theatre cast and crew? Welcome to my chaotic, glamorous, and hilariously relatable day at Malmö Arena 🎭✨

We’re staying right on top of the venue at the lovely Malmö Arena Hotel, and my twelfth-floor room gives me jaw-dropping views of Malmö, Turning Torso, Öresundsbron — and even Copenhagen. 🌇🌉🇩🇰

My day starts with an amazing vegan breakfast at Percy’s, the in-house hotel restaurant that’s a dream for anyone who’s plant-based 🌱☕️ It’s the first full day of the tour, and I’m feeling that post-runthrough exhaustion. But tour life doesn’t pause — it caffeinates and continues 😅

Lunch at Percy’s hits the spot with oumph, rice, and potatoes 🍛 Then it’s time for a shopping run to Emporia with my friend David — who, due to bad knees, bikes there… but forgets to stop and has to turn around 😂 Classic David!

On my end, I’m apparently turning heads in my Matthew Williamson x H&M sunglasses 😎 At Myrorna, I pick up second-hand white Nike sneakers 👟, a stainless steel face roller 💆‍♂️, and some under-eye masks for the ultimate self-care trio: me, David, and Johanna.

Dinner is vegan and gluten-free lasagna at Percy’s 🙌 Delicious. But the comedy doesn’t end: back at the hotel, I try to blip my keycard on the elevator button instead of pressing it. Exhaustion level = max 🤦‍♂️

Finally, I make my way to Malmö Arena for our big dress rehearsal. The magic of the show is real, but so are the in-between moments — the meals, the mishaps, the people 🫶

I Made a Vegan Upside-Down Sandwich Cake for My Birthday (and Then Drank...

Cue our escape to Sidetrack 🍸, Stockholm’s oldest gay bar near Mariatorget. Sidetrack is iconic: laid-back during the week, buzzing on weekends, with great Swedish food 🍽️ and signature cocktails 🍹. We chilled with a drink and laughed off the weird theatre night. If you’re visiting Stockholm, this bar’s a must-visit 🌈💫.

What if a fairytale could come to life right in the heart of Stockholm? 🌟🎭

On January 5, 2025, I found myself at the newly renovated Maximteatern at Karlaplan in Östermalm, Stockholm — and it was a night to remember! ✨ The occasion? The grand opening night of *Shrek The Musical*, produced by the exciting new company WEST END STOCKHOLM, known for having some of the sharpest PR around. 🎭🇸🇪

I was thrilled to be invited and brought along my friend Ulf for the fun. 🎟️ Right in front of us sat my good friend Martin and his guest, and the energy was already buzzing before the lights even dimmed! ✨ To top it off, when we arrived at our seats, we were treated to generous goodie bags 🍫🥤 filled with snacks to enjoy during the performance — the perfect way to kick off the evening.

The show itself was pure magic. 🧚‍♂️🐉 The costumes were nothing short of jaw-dropping — every character from the Shrek universe came to life with incredible detail, craftsmanship, and color. 👑👗 Every stitch, every prop, every wig felt lovingly created to transport the audience straight into a real-life fairytale world. 🌟

 The set design was equally mind-blowing 🎬✨, with seamless scene transitions that moved like a living, breathing storybook 📖. There wasn’t a single lull — the pacing, the music, the visuals, everything kept the audience mesmerized from the first note to the standing ovation at the end. 👏🏰

The photo I’m sharing today captures the final, euphoric moment of the night: the entire cast assembled on stage, glowing under the lights, taking their well-earned bows. 🎶💚 The energy in that room was contagious; you could feel the pride, joy, and pure theatre magic in the air. 🧡

Moments like these remind me why I love theatre so much — the artistry, the storytelling, the community, the magic. ✨ Being able to experience it with close friends made it all the more special. 🥰

Ulf picks me up in his sleek charcoal Mini. He's dressed for a Scandi fashion show in a caramel jacket & tan trousers. We hit IKEA to scout the Stockholm Collection 2025 🛋️ — and Ulf nearly falls asleep testing a daybed. I grab a metal table for plants and a shelf for the kitchen 🍃🛒

Lentils, chickpeas, sauerkraut, and four jars of discounted vegan mayo later — I’m winning 🏆 Meanwhile Ulf buys 500 SEK worth of Easter candy for his team 🍬

I start my morning the same way I always do—editing yesterday’s Instagram Stories for all my social platforms 🎬📱. Then it’s time to upload, write the descriptions, and post the **oldest photo on my iPhone** (yes, it's a thing—nostalgia meets decluttering 🕰️📷). Once I erase it, I feel *brand new* 💅🏼

But here’s the twist—my balcony and kitchen both have these weird, awkward “zones” that just don’t *work*. So when I saw IKEA’s VESKEN trolley-style shelf units online, I had a ✨vision✨. With my oversized black sunglasses 😎 and my multicolored faux fur Kenzo x H&M tiger-striped bomber 🐯, I hopped on my bike 🚲 and rode into Stockholm’s city center to the IKEA store in Gallerian.

Mission: Two trolleys for my balcony and one tall unit for my kitchen corner. 🎯 While I was there, I stumbled upon the IKEA Museum Pop-Up Shop and couldn’t resist a few cute placemats 🧡. Once home, I assembled the shelves (super easy 🛠️) and finally filled that useless balcony gap with pots and prettiness 🌿🌸. 

BUT… the tall kitchen shelf? It looked so good that I now NEED a second one to stack on top. 😅

I wrap up the day FaceTiming Magnus 📞, sipping on a classic Kamikaze 🍸, and feeling like my life is 10% more organized—and 100% more fabulous.

HOW I GOT MY INSANE PUFFER JACKET…

Ever feel like your whole life is a mix of editing, errands, oat waffles and bubble baths? 😂📱🎬 Welcome to my day, where I start off like a total content machine—editing yesterday’s Instagram stories, uploading the video across all platforms, writing snappy captions 💻✍️ and posting the oldest photo on my iPhone (then *deleting* it like a minimalist icon) 📸📤❌ Just your average social media ritual 💁‍♂️

Then comes the glamorous chaos: the plumber arrives (ON TIME?!) 🛠️⏰ and voilà—I now own a working bathtub plug 😎💦 Time for a celebratory 2pm bubble bath because, why not? 🛁🫧 After soaking like the drama queen I am, I hop on my bike 🚴‍♂️ and swing by COOP to grab a package from Sellpy full of pre-loved fashion treasures 📦👖 Then off to Ulf’s with that AND the shower gel I didn’t vibe with from Collar Store... which now mysteriously lives in *his* bathroom 🤫🧴💅

Also stopped by the corner store for a VINTED delivery 📬 and had a whole springtime pollen consultation with the cashier who was too tired to realise he's allergic 😅🌸🤧 I felt like Dr Joakim, MD (Majestic Diva). In the evening I ride off to Ulf's high rise in Liljeholmen 🏙️ where he’s made pasta arrabiata 🍝🌶️ and I bring vegan cheese 🧀💚 We binge *The Residence* on Netflix 📺 and of course, he keeps dozing off 😴

Naturally, I Google the ingredients (vinegar, cayenne, garlic powder—you know the drill), then hit Johanna with the *Buffalo Sauce Challenge.* Can she name all six ingredients? 😅 Let’s just say it starts off strong… and ends in delicious disaster. 🌶️💥
