Welcome to my Thursday vlog, where life backstage collides with the tempest of Stockholm weather and the unending glamour of theatre. ✨ This is the fourth preview of our production, and while the rain falls and thunder cracks, I’m in my beloved costume shop, stitching, pinning, and discovering the beauty in second-hand treasures.

Today, my box of wonders from SELLPY revealed a glorious H&M Studio A/W 2016 polo neck. A piece of fashion history, woven into the madness of preview week. This is what I adore: giving preloved fashion a new life beneath the theatre lights.

The day was a whirl of sewing: adding a pocket into a dinner jacket, fabricating a fake shirt front, and sealing the pockets of black trousers for the sake of elegance. It’s hot, it’s sweaty, it’s chaotic—and yet, there is artistry in every stitch. The costume shop, newly tidied, becomes a sanctuary of creativity.

The storm outside mirrors the electricity of the preview, but then comes Majsan—glorious as ever—bearing two bottles of flavored Koskenkorva vodka. This is theatre family: we weather the storms together, and we celebrate the small, sparkling gifts of friendship.

The Loudest Snoring Stranger Ever (and a Rainy Trip to Härnösand) 🎒🚆🌧️

I got up at 6AM with barely 4 hours of sleep 😴 — and what followed was a wild train ride full of snoring strangers, packed bags, and rain-soaked Swedish views 🎒🚆🌧️
Join me and Magnus as we travel from Stockholm to Härnösand to see the hit musical HÖGA KUSTEN 🎭

Today’s vlog captures the full travel chaos: I wake up painfully early (because I need time in the morning to function), then show you everything I packed for this short trip. As a minimalist-travel kind of guy, I make it work with just a backpack 🎒

After the subway to Stockholm Central 🚇, I meet Magnus and we hop on the first train to Sundsvall. The vibe is cozy, until someone behind us starts SNOR

ING — and I mean movie-level, earthquake-snoring 💤💥 The whole carriage is shaking with laughter. Magnus even uses the sound to locate our seats when he comes back from the restaurant car 🍽️😂

We switch trains in Sundsvall 🚉 and score amazing seats 💺 — AND get a rare peek into the driver’s cabin 👀🚄 It begins to rain, but we expected that 🌧️ Umbrellas and jackets at the ready.

Finally, we arrive in Härnösand 🇸🇪, where we’ll continue on to Lövvik to see HÖGA KUSTEN. If you’ve ever taken a long train ride through Sweden, you know the vibe — forests, fjords, fika, and funny moments.

From Vegan Sausages to Costume Packing 🎬 A Day in My Life in Stockholm!

Ever wondered what a day in the life of a vegan content creator and theatre dresser in Stockholm looks like? 🎬🌱 Today’s vlog is a full ride—from editing and uploading content to bike rides, vegan sausages, surprise discounts, and prepping for tour life! 🙌

🛠️ THE MORNING ROUTINE

My day kicks off with editing yesterday’s Instagram story into a vlog for all my platforms 📲. Then I upload the video, write the description, and follow my daily tradition: sharing the oldest photo on my iPhone 📸 and deleting it to keep things nostalgic and fresh.

🚴‍♂️ ADVENTURE TO SKANSTULL

I grab my bike and head into Södermalm, to Skanstull to meet my fabulous friend Magnus 💁‍♂️ at HAQET – SWEDISH STREET FOOD. They specialize in sausages from all over the world 🌍. I had the vegan Marrakesh—smashed potatoes in flatbread with the most delicious sausage 💥. Magnus loved his spicy Merguez too 🌶️.

🛍️ A LITTLE SHOPPING NEVER HURT

Then it’s off to the shopping centre RINGEN where I get totally sidetracked by a 40% sale at HEMTEX 😅. I joined their membership to grab a gorgeous glass pitcher 🏺, two floral bud plates 🌸, and a lime-inspired cup 🍋. Stylish and smart!

🎭 PACKING FOR TOUR LIFE

Back home, I begin packing for the tour of the show I’ve been working on for years 💼. It’s a huge milestone and I’m both nervous and excited for what’s next.

In today’s vlog, I start my morning right here in Midsommarkransen by editing yesterday’s Instagram Stories footage 📲. It’s all about that daily consistency—prepping videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more, and keeping my audience engaged and entertained. I also stick to my quirky tradition: uploading the oldest picture on my iPhone and deleting it forever. It’s my fun way of blending nostalgia with fresh content.

Then we switch gears BIG TIME: I head to Oscarsteatern for a special meet & greet for *TRASSEL*, the upcoming Swedish production of Ray Cooney’s farcical masterpiece *Out of Order*. This is one of the funniest plays out there, and it’s making a huge comeback in Stockholm’s theatre scene. We gather on the main stage (set up in a giant square horseshoe of chairs), sipping coffee ☕ and munching croissants 🥐—I stick to vegan treats 🌱, of course. I’m decked out in my signature bright yellow COS beanie, huge bug-eye sunglasses, my H\&M Studio multi-patterned hoodie, and my black jeans jacket with metal rings 🔥.

We meet the whole team: the brilliant director lays out his vision, followed by the costume designer, lighting designer, and set designer—all sharing creative ideas for what’s going to be a hilarious, fast-paced comedy of errors. The cast is packed with Swedish comedy legends, and we get right into the first read-through, which has everyone cracking up 😂. After Act 1, we break for lunch (a killer vegan salad for me 🥗).

Ray Cooney’s *Out of Order* is a masterclass in British farce, and *TRASSEL* is bringing that same chaotic energy to Swedish audiences at the legendary Oscarsteatern. If you love theatre, behind-the-scenes action, and seeing how productions come together from day one, this vlog is for you.

What if... my best theatre nights always started with vegan kebab?

On January 21, 2024, a crisp Stockholm evening 🌆, I biked over to Le Kebab (Upplandsgatan 51, near Odenplan 🚲) for a pre-show dinner that honestly deserves its *own* standing ovation. On my plate? The dreamiest vegan kebab you can imagine: sizzling strips of seitan, crispy fries, rich and creamy vegan cheese sauce, juicy pomegranate seeds, slivered red onions, and a fresh, crunchy salad 🥗🌶️🍟.

And the reason I was carb-loading? I was about to see the *first preview* of the Swedish production of *Dear Evan Hansen* 💙 at Oscarsteatern! Sitting with me at dinner were Lisa (our backstage production superstar 👏) and my friend Martin, who’s produced a few incredible shows himself 🎭. There’s nothing like the shared buzz of theatre people getting ready for something *big*.

What if a borrowed costume became your breakthrough moment? 👢🎭   

January 8, 2025. Gothenburg. A quiet backstage corner lit by the soft hum of stage lights. I snapped this photo of actor and singer Nils Weibull, leaning casually against the wooden towers that frame the stage. In the shot, he’s wearing a green baseball cap 🧢, a lilac plaid shirt, jeans 👖, and a pair of brown Chelsea boots 👢—a calm presence amidst a flurry of backstage change.

 Here’s the story behind the shot. The role Nils was stepping into—Mårten—was previously played by Martin Stokke Mathiesen, who had just departed the production to star in *Dear Evan Hansen* at Maximteatern in Stockholm 🎭💙. His understudy, Hjalmar Freij, was promoted to the lead role full time. So now *he* needed an understudy. That’s where Nils comes in, wearing Hjalmar’s costume, ready to become the next link in the storytelling chain.

Nils, a graduate of Östra Grevie folkhögskola and Artisten/Högskolan för scen och musik, is no stranger to transformation. With credits across Malmö Opera, Oscarsteatern, and even Astrid Lindgrens Värld, his ability to shift into new roles with emotional clarity and presence is what makes him such a captivating performer. 🎬✨

What if a fairytale could come to life right in the heart of Stockholm? 🌟🎭

On January 5, 2025, I found myself at the newly renovated Maximteatern at Karlaplan in Östermalm, Stockholm — and it was a night to remember! ✨ The occasion? The grand opening night of *Shrek The Musical*, produced by the exciting new company WEST END STOCKHOLM, known for having some of the sharpest PR around. 🎭🇸🇪

I was thrilled to be invited and brought along my friend Ulf for the fun. 🎟️ Right in front of us sat my good friend Martin and his guest, and the energy was already buzzing before the lights even dimmed! ✨ To top it off, when we arrived at our seats, we were treated to generous goodie bags 🍫🥤 filled with snacks to enjoy during the performance — the perfect way to kick off the evening.

The show itself was pure magic. 🧚‍♂️🐉 The costumes were nothing short of jaw-dropping — every character from the Shrek universe came to life with incredible detail, craftsmanship, and color. 👑👗 Every stitch, every prop, every wig felt lovingly created to transport the audience straight into a real-life fairytale world. 🌟

 The set design was equally mind-blowing 🎬✨, with seamless scene transitions that moved like a living, breathing storybook 📖. There wasn’t a single lull — the pacing, the music, the visuals, everything kept the audience mesmerized from the first note to the standing ovation at the end. 👏🏰

The photo I’m sharing today captures the final, euphoric moment of the night: the entire cast assembled on stage, glowing under the lights, taking their well-earned bows. 🎶💚 The energy in that room was contagious; you could feel the pride, joy, and pure theatre magic in the air. 🧡

Moments like these remind me why I love theatre so much — the artistry, the storytelling, the community, the magic. ✨ Being able to experience it with close friends made it all the more special. 🥰

I’m sitting in one of the smaller stages at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, in the hush before curtain. I wish I could tell you what play we were about to see—but my calendar simply says *THEATRE WITH MAJSAN*. No title. No cast. Just a name.

 

Majsan. 👵✨ My friend, my theatre partner, and the one who likely got us the tickets. She works part-time as a child wrangler at Stadsteatern—still loving the theatre life even in semi-retirement. We met years ago when she was herding small actors in *Karlsson på taket*… or was it *Rasmus på luffen*? Later we reunited for *Så som i Himmelen*, her once again wrangling kids with calm determination while I zipped up costumes backstage. 🎭👕💼

In the photo, I’m wearing my chunky ERDEM x H&M sweater I found on Tradera—cozy but underused, honestly. It blends into the red velvet shadows of the seats around us. I can almost smell the curtain rope and hear the last-minute shuffles of late arrivals. 🎟️🍬👞

Ulf picks me up in his sleek charcoal Mini. He's dressed for a Scandi fashion show in a caramel jacket & tan trousers. We hit IKEA to scout the Stockholm Collection 2025 🛋️ — and Ulf nearly falls asleep testing a daybed. I grab a metal table for plants and a shelf for the kitchen 🍃🛒

Lentils, chickpeas, sauerkraut, and four jars of discounted vegan mayo later — I’m winning 🏆 Meanwhile Ulf buys 500 SEK worth of Easter candy for his team 🍬

Clean car, clean conscience! And Ulf is beaming with joy at his spotless Mini 🚙✨

**What if backstage moments were the real show? 🎭📸**

Throwback to June 14, 2024, at **Turteatern** in Kärrtorp, where my friend **Christian Hedenfeld** and I took this selfie with the set of that year’s farce, *Oj, en till!* in the background. The show was a hilarious whirlwind, featuring **Robert Gustafsson** playing three brothers—cue the quick changes, stand-ins, and all the backstage magic! 🎬✨

 Christian and I go way back, but we only started working together in **2018** as dressers for *Så som i himmelen*. Since then, we teamed up again on *Tootsie*, and nowadays, he’s at **Folkoperan**, even sewing costumes for *Trollflöjten*. Always in a **shirt** (seriously, have I ever seen him in anything else? 🤔😂).

**What if… I Actually Remembered to Take More Photos?**

This is the oldest photo on my phone, taken on May 19, 2024, at the season wrap party for our musical 🎭. We’ve been running for two seasons, and we have two more ahead—so there’s plenty to celebrate! 🥂 But this moment is bittersweet: some cast members are leaving, some are returning later, and some are staying a little longer before moving on.  

I’m notoriously bad at taking photos with the incredible actors I work with. I’ve shared the stage with some of Sweden’s finest, but I always forget to capture the moment. Some, like Magnus Härenstam and Lasse Berghagen, are no longer with us, and I regret not having more memories saved. So, on this night, slightly tipsy 🍷, I made an effort!  

Here I am with Sofia Pekkari, Carro Gustafsson, Rolf Christiansson, Tord Hansson, Jonas Schlyter, our brilliant writer Daniel Réhn, and Martin Stokke Mathiesen. 📸 Sofia is leaving for good, Lindy is leaving but will return in the spring, Carro, Jonas, and Tord will be back for the tour, and Martin will stay with us until spring before heading off—only to return later. Theatre life is a revolving door, but that’s part of its magic.  

The night was full of laughter, reminiscing, and promises to reunite. I may not always remember to take photos, but I’ll cherish this one. Here's to more memories, more seasons, and remembering to capture them! 🥂🎭📷
