What happens when theatre, second-hand fashion, and Puccini collide in one unforgettable day? 🎭✨

This vlog is a whirlwind of backstage life, fashion finds, and a hilariously chaotic attempt to retell the synopsis of Puccini’s Tosca—all set against the vibrant backdrop of Stockholm.

The day begins with a fashion excavation: out of my enormous Sellpy box comes a fake fur leopard-print bag from H&M 🐆. Outrageous, impractical, fabulous—exactly what fashion should be. And just as the bag makes its debut, a package from the second-hand app Vinted arrives at my door 📦. Inside: a sweater from H&M Studio 2017 👕.

At the theatre, rehearsals continue. No run-through today—just the endless rhythm of preparation. I hand the package to Lovisa, our tireless production assistant, to open on camera. Then, with theatrical flourish, our makeup artist David becomes model-for-a-moment 💄👑, sliding into the Studio sweater and strutting as if backstage were Milan.

But theatre life is never just about the work—it’s about the people. After hours, I meet Magnus at REPLIK, a beloved gay bar on Hornsgatan in Södermalm 🍷🌈. The bar buzzes with its usual mix of actors, artists, and dreamers. Soon Christian, fresh from his duties at FOLKOPERAN 🎶, joins us. And here, darling, is where the real magic happens: Christian and Magnus attempt to explain Tosca.

What follows is less a synopsis and more a fever dream. High notes are mimed, plots are forgotten, villains confused, and death scenes overacted. It is opera reimagined as farce, and it is utterly glorious 🤯🎶😂.

The story begins with my jeans — Lagerfeld x H&M, worn for the seventh time. At this point, their cost per wear is down to 20 SEK. Fashion, when stretched across time, becomes not only chic but efficient. Style is mathematics, darling.

Inside the theatre, the rehearsal room breathes with energy 🎭. I remove name tags from a dressing gown — yesterday’s loungewear, today’s stage costume. Fashion is transformation, fashion is theatre. Camilla, the costume designer, offers us a wealth of treasures. To share the bounty, I gift David, our makeup designer, a box of glasses and sunglasses. His artistry now has new toys. When the workday ends, I set out for Kulturhuset Stadsteatern, up to Kilen, Fri Scen, to witness the premiere of LEDNINGEN’s not-for-profit production “KARL XII – FÖR SVERIGE I FRAMTIDEN.”

The experience? Honest review: not great. It felt tentative, like a first try-out, a reading more than a staging. Lines, ideas, ambitions — all present, but not yet crystallised. And that, in its way, is fascinating. To witness art mid-birth. To glimpse the unfinished, to be part of a process instead of its polish.
