FROM SEWING BUTTONS TO DRAGQUEEN BINGO: A THEATRE LIFE ADVENTURE 🌈🎭💃

What happens when a day of sewing buttons, snack hacks, and balcony views ends with dragqueen bingo at a gay bar? 🌈💃🍸

This vlog captures the glorious unpredictability of life as a dresser and costume supervisor in Stockholm. One minute I’m sewing on a button, the next I’m laughing under a disco ball while sequined queens call out numbers. It’s a day that proves: the extraordinary lives inside the ordinary.

🎭 Inside the Theatre: Farce in Motion
The rehearsal continues, and it’s buzzing with energy. We’re preparing a farce—a genre that delights in absurdity—and the audience is responding. Tickets are selling fast, the promise of laughter filling the air.

I steal a moment with David, our brilliant makeup designer and wig creator. Together we ascend to the second balcony, a perch rarely visited. From there, the theatre looks different: vast, majestic, alive. To see from that height is to remember the grandeur of what we do.

Tim Mårtensson, costume creator, breezes in, and I share a personal secret: a snack hack. Beans, Lao Gan Ma chili crisp, and a touch of oil. Simple, affordable, utterly delicious. 🔥🍲 It’s the sort of sustenance theatre people thrive on—quick, bold, unforgettable.

🧵 Buttons, Steam, and Practical Magic

The glamour of theatre is often held together by tiny tasks. Today, it’s sewing a button back onto a shirt. Small, but without it, the costume can’t perform. Then there’s the new washing machine with its mysterious “hygiene steam” feature. Does it banish germs? Does it sanctify fabric? I test it, though its secrets remain opaque.

🌈 After Work: A Surprise Awaits
After rehearsal, Lisa and I venture into the city. My friend Cicki has recommended a new gay bar near the theatre, and curiosity pulls us there. The surprise? Dragqueen bingo! Sequins glitter, laughter roars, drinks flow, and numbers are called with theatrical flair. The energy is electric, the joy uncontainable.

💫 Why This Vlog Matters
Because life isn’t made of grand performances alone. It’s stitched together by buttons, spiced by snacks, made dazzling by unexpected nights out. This video invites you into that rhythm: part backstage, part nightlife, always human.

BACKSTAGE CHAOS, CHEAP TOMATOES & FIRST DAY MAGIC 🎭🍅✨

Come with me as I step into the magical, chaotic, and endlessly stylish world of theatre life in Stockholm. Today marks my very first day working as a dresser and costume supervisor on a brand-new show. But as always, life is never just work—it is food, fashion, wit, and a touch of chaos.

🌟 The Morning Ritual
I rise early, at seven, because time at home is essential before diving into the day’s drama. By 09:30, I am at the theatre, settling into the atelier, already surrounded by costumes, fabrics, and possibilities. The first day is not about rushing—it is about absorbing the stage before the curtain rises.

👒 The People
I meet Lisa, our temporary production assistant, and David, the extraordinary man behind makeup and wigs. Instantly, the world comes alive. Lisa, in her Emil i Lönneberga cap—called a mysse—is already a character in the play of the day. Together we discover a linguistic comedy: “Superbra jobbat” (well done!) in Swedish sounds suspiciously like “super blow your butt” in English. Darling, one must love a workplace that delivers both theatre and slapstick. 💨😂

🌽 The Food
Lunch is a sweet corn hiyashi, cool, light, and ambiguous—sauce or dressing? Does it matter when it’s divine? My afternoon treat is a delicate red lentil pancake, proving that even snacks can carry the elegance of couture.

🧵 The Work
Of course, there is always labour behind the glamour. I spend part of the afternoon in the attic, moving costumes that have become safety hazards. It’s less “runway” and more “rafters,” but darling, this is theatre: beauty balanced against chaos.

🍅 The Evening
After work, I glide home on my bike, stopping at Ica for scandalously cheap tomatoes. At home, I craft the perfect pasta with tomato sauce. Simple, divine, the way all finales should be.

💫 Why watch this vlog?
Because it is not only about costumes or pasta—it’s about how life itself is a stage. You will see the glamour of first days, the humour of translation gone wrong, the simplicity of cheap ingredients made chic, and the theatre of everyday life.

THE LAST NIGHT OF SUMMER, AND A SAUCE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING 🌽🍜✨

Have you ever tasted a sauce so divine it felt like the closing curtain of summer itself? 🌙✨

This vlog is not just about food—it is about the theatre of living. Today was my last free day before I return to work on the show tomorrow, and it unfolded like a play in three acts: editing, cooking, and reflecting.

🎬 Act I: Editing Dreams
I spent the day at home, editing the unforgettable trip Ulf and I took to the Dollar Store. What a treasure trove of moments! Each clip turned into a short, each short into a story—like pearls strung together, endlessly glittering. Editing may take time, but oh, the reward is eternal.

🥢 Act II: The Sweet Corn Hiyashi
Evening fell, and I turned to the kitchen. My stage, my spotlight, my orchestra pit. Tonight, I conjured an Asian-inspired dish—sweet corn hiyashi. Imagine this:

  • 8 spring onions chopped to perfection
  • A velvet sauce of corn, miso, ginger, garlic, and soy
  • Cool noodles wrapped in freshness
  • Smoked tofu, basil, tomatoes, cucumbers—each a character in this delicious play

Every bite was light yet profound, refreshing yet layered. A dish that tastes of late summer evenings and whispered secrets. 🌽🍜

🌙 Act III: Balcony Reverie
And where could one eat such a dish but the balcony? My personal box at the opera of life. I sat, tea in hand ☕, as twilight descended. The air was cooler, the shadows longer. Summer, my dear, is ending—too soon, too fast. And yet, it leaves us with moments so rich they burn brighter in memory.

💫 Why watch?
Because this vlog isn’t only about noodles or editing—it’s about the rhythm of life, the bittersweet passage of time, and the beauty of savoring every detail. It is food, fashion, theatre, friendship, and feeling—all intertwined.
