"Blurry Roadside Memories"

This is the Oldest Photo on my Phone, taken on July 2, 2023, during a stop for gas in Söderköping while Ulf and I were driving back to Stockholm after visiting my parents in Mörbylånga on Öland. The photo captures a close-up of me looking quite good, while Ulf is in the background, a yellow blur that looks almost comical—a fuzzy blob in his signature bright yellow hoodie. We were exhausted but in high spirits after the long trip.

Ulf and I have been friends for over 35 years, and though we’re now living quite different lives, moments like these bring out the joy of our friendship. This spontaneous stop for gas ended up creating a snapshot that makes me smile every time I see it. It’s funny how random moments, like this, sometimes become the most memorable ones.

The setting was just a typical Swedish gas station, but the memory it holds makes it special. Ulf, always the practical one, filled up the car while I, as usual, couldn’t resist taking a selfie. I snapped this picture just before we got back on the road, and while I look all posed, Ulf is just an afterthought in the background—unintentionally photobombing, as always. The blurry effect, combined with the absurdity of the moment, perfectly encapsulates our dynamic.

This photo represents a great mix of friendship, travel, and unexpected laughs, which is probably why I’ve held onto it for so long.

HOW I GOT MY DRESS REHERSAL BOOTY #theatrelife #veganliving #quickchange...

In this video, I start the day by editing yesterday’s Instagram stories for Reels, YouTube, and TikTok. After some quick edits, I hop on my bike and head into the theater for another full day of rehearsals. I begin the day on a mission: finding a black waistcoat. In the middle of all the chaos, I even try on a wig—got to have some fun, right? Meanwhile, makeup artist David and his assistant Johanna are getting things in order for the big show. Tim Mårtensson, our amazing costume creator, arrives with a gift—a coffee maker that he inherited from his friend, Pepa. Talk about a thoughtful present, especially in a place where caffeine fuels everything! Then, it’s time for the dress rehearsal. My new task today is helping actor Martin with his quick change after the opening number. With Joakim out of the show, David steps up as stage manager for the day. It’s all hands on deck! I gave my dress rehearsal tickets to my friend Martin, and in return, he surprised me with the cutest gift: a collection of tiny white wine bottles. Backstage, actor Rikard Berg is playing cameraman, capturing every behind-the-scenes moment. As usual, the energy is electric, and the show ends with a standing ovation. It never gets old seeing the audience on their feet! Living in Midsommarkransen, Stockholm, I’m a gay vegan man working as a dresser and costume supervisor for a musical. My daily life is full of theater, vegan cooking, vlogging, and style. I post daily videos on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Threads, and I always share the oldest picture on my phone before erasing it. It’s my quirky way of keeping things fresh and nostalgic at the same time. #theatrelife #veganliving #quickchange #btsmoments #costumedesign #lgbtqcontent #teaterliv #veganvardag #snabbyte #kostymdesign Don’t forget to follow me for more behind-the-scenes fun and daily updates! #j240805

Driving Through Memories

This is the oldest photo on my phone, taken on July 2, 2023, during a weekend trip to visit my parents in Mörbylånga, a small village on the Swedish island of Öland. In the picture, you can see my friend Ulf Nordlander at the wheel of his Mini Cooper, wearing his bright yellow hoodie, which always stands out no matter where we go. He’s focused on the road, his profile set against the passing landscape as we drive through familiar scenery.

We’ve been friends for over 35 years. We met back when we were both chasing dreams of becoming actors. Those were different times—full of big ambitions, rehearsals, and the excitement of youth. But life had other plans for both of us. Ulf was drawn to set design, a world behind the stage, where creativity took a different form. Eventually, though, he found his true calling in elder care, a career far from the theater lights but one where his kindness truly shines.

This trip to Öland felt like one of those full-circle moments. There we were, cruising through the island’s quiet roads, surrounded by the vast, open countryside that always feels like home. Ulf’s bright hoodie was a splash of color against the muted tones of the car, and I couldn’t help but snap the photo, capturing the simple beauty of the moment. We didn’t need words. Just the road, the familiar comfort of our friendship, and the hum of the Mini Cooper’s engine.

Looking at this picture now, I’m reminded of all the conversations we’ve had over the years—about life, dreams, and how we’ve both ended up in places we never expected. Ulf, once set on designing worlds for the stage, now brings joy to the elderly, and I, who thought I’d be an actor, found my creative outlet in the world of costume design and vlogging. Our paths may have diverged, but our friendship never wavered.

This photo is more than just a snapshot of a car ride; it’s a reminder of the journey we’ve been on together for decades.

HOW I GOT MY BOOK OF DRAG #TheatreLife #RehearsalDay #CreativeJourney #B...

In this video, I start the day by editing yesterday’s Instagram Stories for Instagram Reels, YouTube, and TikTok. Then, it’s time to hop on my bike and head to the theatre for a day full of rehearsals. Opening night is just around the corner, and I’m feeling the exhaustion. We’re doing a full run-through in costumes, and I even have to say goodbye to an old lunchbox bag from the musical *SISTER ACT* in London that my friend Staffan gave me. It’s seen better days, so I finally throw it out (RIP, lunchbox bag).

While at the theatre, Johanna has an epiphany about grapes—she realizes you don’t actually have to chew on the seeds when eating them. It’s one of those funny, random moments that keep the energy going. The costume creator, Tim Mårtensson, gives me a lovely present—a book about drag, which totally makes my day. Meanwhile, the actress Emma gets new shoes, and she’s over the moon about them.

I live in an apartment in Midsommarkransen, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden, where I work as a dresser and costume supervisor at a musical theatre in the city. I’m into vlogging, vegan cooking, theatre, and style, and every day I post videos on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Threads. I also have a fun little tradition: I upload the oldest photo on my iPhone, post it across platforms, and then delete it from my phone. It’s my way of keeping things fresh while holding onto a bit of nostalgia.

ANYONE FOR A CHEESY MUFF?

This is the oldest photo on my phone, taken on July 2, 2023, in the village of Degerhamn on the Swedish island of Öland. It features a quirky vintage ad for Estrella’s long-forgotten snack, "Ostmuffar" (Cheese Muffs). I had never heard of these cheese puffs before, and after some digging, it seems this product might have been a short-lived or rare snack, as there’s barely any trace of it online! The ad is pretty funny and nostalgic, saying: "Here’s something different! Enjoy: New! Estrella cheese puffs. Crispy. What a great taste! And what a fun, unique sensation to munch on them! Try them!" A fun discovery during my Öland trip.

This ad is plastered on a weathered old wall, bringing a sense of time travel to a simpler era of snack marketing. The faded colors and retro style capture that classic, playful spirit, instantly drawing me in. There's something charming about this forgotten snack trying so hard to be the next big thing.

The moment made me smile because of the sheer randomness—finding this obscure ad in such a remote place. It’s like a little piece of history nobody remembers, and yet it’s still there, telling a forgotten story.

This photo is special to me because I’m fascinated by quirky, vintage finds like this. It makes me wonder how many other forgotten snacks or products are out there, waiting to be rediscovered. The connection between nostalgia and the present moment is what I love capturing.

Have you ever stumbled upon something so odd and fascinating that it made you stop and reflect? This was one of those moments for me.

HOW I GOT CHILLIES, APPLES AND GRAPES, OH, MY! #theaterlovers #creatives...

Today’s video starts off with me editing yesterday’s Instagram Stories to prep them for Reels, YouTube, and TikTok. After that, I hop on my bike to pick up a few things I ordered online. My best find? A pair of secondhand sunglasses from H&M’s collab with Marni, bought through Sellpy.

Back at the theater, David, our makeup artist, checks his lists, and we have a little fun pretending I’m his next “client” for the day. It’s a blast working with such creative people!

Then the costume creator Tim’s husband arrives, not just with costumes but also apples, chilies, and grapes. Naturally, Johanna and I face off with a quick game of rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets the first pick of the chilies.

We spend the rest of the day mending costumes and preparing the four new cast members for their debut in the opening number. Plus, Martin, who's been part of our crew since day one, takes on a new role in the opening number since Rolf left. Lots of changes, but everything’s coming together as we get closer to opening night!

Living in Midsommarkransen, Stockholm, and working as a dresser and costume supervisor at a musical theater, life is never boring. I share my daily adventures on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Threads. I also post the oldest photo from my iPhone each day, then delete it from my phone—a fun way to keep my feed both fresh and nostalgic!

The Oldest Photo on My Phone

This is the Oldest Photo on my Phone, taken July 2, 2023, at Kalvhagen in the village of Mörbylånga on the Swedish island Öland. The picture captures my old friend Ulf Nordlander attempting to take a close-up photo of moss growing on a massive rock. Ulf is wearing a bright yellow hoodie, and his crouched posture as he angles for the perfect shot looks unintentionally comical. The moment was quiet and peaceful, with the soft breeze carrying the scent of summer grass. It’s a memory that makes me smile every time I see it.

We had spent the afternoon exploring the natural beauty of the island. The colors were vivid—the yellow of Ulf's hoodie against the green landscape, and the contrast of the gray stone covered in moss. There was something almost magical about the simplicity of the scene. Ulf, totally focused on capturing the details, and me, just appreciating the moment.

This photo is special to me because it marks a carefree weekend spent with close friends. It was one of those spontaneous days that remind you how beautiful everyday moments can be. As the sun slowly set, we continued to wander through the fields, just enjoying the island's peaceful atmosphere.

Öland is known for its wide-open landscapes, charming coastal villages, and rich cultural history. It's a place where nature meets heritage, making it a popular destination for those seeking tranquility.
