Bourbon whiskey, 2 ounces (4 teaspoons), plus one ounce (2 tablespoons) juice of fresh lemons
1 1/2 tablespoons, or 3/4 ounce authentic maple syrup (or simple syrup)
Orange peel and a cocktail cherry for the garnish
for serving, ice
In a cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, and syrup. Add a little amount of ice, then fill and shake until very cold.
In a lowball or Old Fashioned glass, strain the beverage. Serve with ice, a cocktail cherry, and an orange peel.
