This is the oldest photo on my phone, taken on December 4, 2023, in the stairwell at the theatre. It features the talented actresses Therese "Terran" Andersson-Lewis and Cissi Wrangel during a quiet moment backstage. Their characters bring humor and depth to the show in ways only theatre can.
Cissi plays Mona, the village’s hairstylist—a funny twist, given that her character has the least flattering hairdo of all. Meanwhile, Terran’s character hilariously misses every clue about her son’s sexuality, creating some of the play’s most awkward yet heartwarming moments.
The setting is simple: a staircase bathed in soft theatre lighting. It’s a space we pass by daily but rarely stop to appreciate. Yet, in this candid shot, it transforms into a stage of its own, capturing the humanity of these two characters and the actresses who bring them to life.
This photo holds a special place in my heart because it’s a reminder of theatre’s ability to make us laugh, think, and relate. It also reflects the bonds formed backstage, where shared jokes and quiet moments like this one add to the magic of the show.
