What if…We Never Really See What’s Around Us?

Here’s a screen capture from November 20, 2023, the oldest photo on my phone, taken at a random Stockholm intersection. It’s funny because I don’t know exactly where this building is in the city, despite passing it before. The picture shows me, mid-vlog, bundled up in my long brown faux fur coat, an orange beanie, and a pearl-detailed Giambattista Valli hoodie. I’m giving this slightly baffled look as I take in the architecture behind me, appreciating a new perspective on a place I’ve probably seen a hundred times but never *noticed*.

There’s something so intriguing about catching yourself in a familiar city but feeling like a tourist, stumbling upon “new” old buildings. It was one of those Stockholm afternoons when the city lights glow just right, and details pop in unexpected ways – the kind of day that makes you pause and realize you’re always finding hidden gems in your own backyard.

That unexpected perspective reminds me why I love capturing moments and sharing them – it’s a way to rediscover and celebrate the everyday magic of life. Sometimes, we just need to look a little closer or from a different angle. Maybe I’ll find this spot again, but for now, this photo is a reminder that our city has endless secrets waiting to be discovered.

Featuring a mystery building in Stockholm, my orange beanie, and a dash of urban exploration spirit.
