Backstage Vibes at the Theatre

This is the oldest photo on my phone, taken on August 17, 2023, at the theatre during a full-costume run-through for an upcoming performance. In the photo, we’re standing on the stage, with the auditorium faintly visible in the background. I’m a costume supervisor and dresser, and despite the pressure and the amount of work to do, you can see me looking quite content. There’s something special about these moments right before a show when everything starts coming together—the costumes, the lights, the set. It’s the chaos that makes it exciting!

 The setting is our theatre in Stockholm, where we’ve been rehearsing for weeks, and this run-through is a critical stage in our preparation. The actors are fully immersed in their roles, wearing their costumes as they move through the scenes. It's a moment where the magic of theatre is truly felt, and I feel so fortunate to be a part of it all. The backdrop of the empty seats reminds me of the calm before the storm—the final stretch before opening night.

For me, this photo represents the behind-the-scenes magic that most people don’t get to see. It’s where the hard work happens and where we truly become a team. Being part of this world—seeing the transformation from rehearsal to performance—is something I wouldn’t trade for anything.
