This is the Oldest Photo on my Phone, taken on August 23, 2023, at the theatre during the rehearsal for our new show. It captures the stage from the perspective of the auditorium. On stage, you can see the ensemble, as well as Tuva B. Larsen and Lindy Larsson, rehearsing the opening number. The scene is set in a sleazy Berlin cabaret, and this was likely the first time the actors tried out the number in full costume—some even wearing their wigs for the first time.
The lighting is moody, setting the tone for the gritty yet glamorous atmosphere we’re trying to capture in the production. The theatre was buzzing with excitement, as it’s always a significant milestone when the cast gets to wear their costumes for the first time. The backstage crew was running around, tweaking details, and making sure everything looked perfect. I remember the costume designer fretting over the smallest details, ensuring every piece fit the scene's aesthetic.
Featuring Tuva B. Larsen, Lindy Larsson, and the ensemble, this moment felt both monumental and fun. It's always amazing to see how everything slowly comes together—what was once just an idea on paper now taking physical form on stage. I can vividly recall the energy in the room, the laughter, the nerves, and the joy of seeing the vision come to life.
This photo holds a special place for me because it reminds me of that creative process—the rush of taking something raw and transforming it into something polished, beautiful, and powerful. It's not just about the show; it's about the countless hours, the teamwork, and the little behind-the-scenes moments that make theatre so magical.
