"Old Friend, Old Memories"

This is the oldest photo on my phone, taken on July 2, 2023, at my parents' house in the small village of Mörbylånga on the Swedish island of Öland. It features my dear friend Ulf Nordlander, casually leaning against the yellow wooden wall of the house, wearing his favorite yellow hoodie and smoking a cigarette.  The day was warm, and Ulf and I had just finished a long chat over coffee in the garden. We’ve been friends for about 35 years now, having met while pursuing acting before both shifting paths—Ulf into elder care and me into costume and dressing. This photo captures Ulf in a moment of relaxation, an old friend in a familiar place, lost in thought, or maybe just enjoying the calm of the countryside.

This moment, simple as it is, means a lot to me. Ulf has been such a constant in my life, and this photo brings me back to that day when we were visiting my parents.
